Club Champion

Paul has been a member since moving to Cobleskill 10 years ago. Born and
raised in Southampton, NY he started playing golf at age 12. By the age
of 15 he held a 4 handicap and started winning golf tournaments. While
growing up Paul held playing privileges on two of the finest golf course
in the world. Shinnecock Hills and the National Golf Links of America,
both within walking distance of his home. In High School Paul earned
scholarships to numerous colleges in the Northeast but opted to attend
Brevard Community College in Florida to play golf. Paul enjoyed golfing
with many great players, most notably Paul Azinger PGA star and captain of
the golf team. Also high school teammate Bruce Zabriski, PGA Club Pro
Champion who plays the tour occasionally. After college Paul put his
clubs away for over 10 years and started playing again after his move to
Cobleskill. Paul is a four-time Club Champion at Cobleskill where he
currently holds a 1 handicap. Some other recent successes include placing
13th in the 2000 New York State Mid-am, winning the 2000
Stamford Invitational also winning medalist, winning medalist honors and
runner-up in the 2001 Stamford Invitational, finishing among the top in
the 2001 Capital District Amateur and qualifying for 8 of the last 10 New
York State Amateur Championships. Paul lives in Cobleskill with his wife
Laurie and their 3 children Danielle 17, Zachary 12 and Nicholas age 3,
yes Paul named him after Jack. |
